Honourable Principal, respected teachers and my dear friends! I am Gunjan, a student of class XII C. I want to say something on terrorism. Terrorism today is the problem of the whole world. Terrorism cannot be justified just in the name of any religion or other cause. It is the work of those people who hate life.
Terrorists forget that bullets do not distinguish among the persons. Attacks on our forces by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir has become their habit. It is worth noticing that most educated and talented brains have turned out to be terrorists due to the poisoning of mind. The whole world is living in the shadow of terror. We have to face this devil of terror with courage and wisdom. Thanks.

आदरणीय प्रधानाचार्य महोदय, सम्मानीय गुरुजनो एवं मेरे प्यारे मित्रो! मैं गुंजन कक्षा XII C की विद्यार्थी हुँ। मैं आतंकवाद के बारे में कुछ कहना चाहती हूँ। आज आतंकवाद समूचे विश्व की समस्या है। आतंकवाद किसी धर्म के नाम पर या किसी और कारण से सही नहीं ठहराया जा सकता है। यह उन लोगों का काम है जो जीवन से नफरत करते हैं। आतंकवादी यह भूल जाते हैं कि गोलियाँ आदमियों में फर्क नहीं जानर्ती। आतंकियों द्वारा जम्मू-कश्मीर में हमारी सेना पर आक्रमण करना अब उनकी आदत बन गई है। यह ध्यान देने योग्य बात है कि अधिक पढ़े-लिखे और योग्य व्यक्तियों के दिमाग में जहर भर दिये जाने से वे भी आतंकवादी बन गए हैं। पूरी दुनिया इस आतंक के साये में रह रही है। हमें आतंक के इस राक्षस का सामना साहस व बुद्धिमत्ता से करना होगा। धन्यवाद।

Honourable Principal, respected teachers and my dear friends! I am Shruti, a student of class XII. Today, I want to throw light upon the havoc created by a traffic jam for all. Jam is caused when vehicles are driven randomly. Many times people drive on the wrong side to save a little time. Parking facility is also not available at shops, so in those cases, the vehicles are parked on roads and further complicate the web.
Public must drive and follow the line in traffic jam and never create panic by taking zig-zag ways. They should understand that their two minutes’ delay will save an hour later. The concerned authorities must also keep a strict attitude towards those who do not follow the rules.

आदरणीय प्रधानाचार्य महोदय, सम्माननीय अध्यापकगण और मेरे प्यारे साथियो! मैं कक्षा XII की विद्यार्थी श्रुति हूँ। आज मैं यह बताना चाहती हैं कि ट्रैफिक जाम ने सभी के लिए परेशानी पैदा कर रखी है। जाम इसलिए लगते हैं क्योंकि वाहन बेतरतीब चलाये जाते हैं। कई बार लोग थोड़ा समय बचाने के लिए गलत दिशा में चलते हैं। दुकानों पर वाहनों को खड़ा करने की सुविधा भी नहीं होती इसलिये ऐसी स्थिति में वाहन सड़कों पर ही खड़े कर दिये जाते हैं जिससे हालात और भी खराब हो जाते हैं।
लोगों को जाम के दौरान पंक्ति में चलना चाहिए और टेढ़ा-मेढ़ा रास्ता लेते हुए भगदड़ नहीं मचानी चाहिए। उन्हें समझना चाहिए कि उनकी दो मिनट की देरी आगे एक घण्टा बचा सकती है। सम्बन्धित अधिकारियों को भी यातायात में परेशानी पैदा करने वाले या नियम न मानने वाले तत्वों की तरफ कड़ा रुख रखना होगा।

प्रिय मित्रो! आज मैं एक बहुत ही प्रासंगिक विषय ‘समय का महत्व’ पर बोलने जा रही हूँ। आप लोगों ने एक प्रसिद्ध कहावत तो सुनी होगी कि समय और उतार-चढ़ाव किसी का इन्तजार नहीं करते हैं। यह एकदम सत्य है। हम सभी जानते हैं कि ये अपने तरीके से आते और जाते हैं। अतः एक बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति अपने समय का बेहतरीन ढंग से उपयोग करता है। वह कार्यों को भविष्य के लिये नहीं टालता है।इसी प्रकार हम सभी को अपने समय का महत्व समझना चाहिये। हमारी परीक्षाएँ नजदीक आ रही हैं। हमें अपना अमूल्य समय व्यर्थ नहीं आँवाना चाहिये। यदि हम इसे एक बार खो देंगे तो यह दोबारा वापिस नहीं आयेगा। तब हमें इसके लिये पछताना पड़ेगा। हमें अपने समय का अच्छे से अच्छे ढंग से उपयोग करना चाहिये। हमें ध्यानपूर्वक अपना अध्ययन करना चाहिये ताकि हम अच्छे अंक प्राप्त कर सकें।

Besides these, it is a drain on the limited family income. Moreover, smoking is harmful to other members of the family too.
You know that even on the pouch of tobacco and packet of cigarette, a legal warning is clearly mentioned that smoking and chewing of tobacco is injurious to health. So, you all promise me that from now onwards you will never smoke or chew tobacco.

भाईयो और बहिनो! आज मैं आप लोगों से एक नेक कारण से मिलने आया हूँ। पिछले सप्ताह मुझे पता चला कि इस बस्ती में बहुत सारे लोग धूम्रपान के आदी हैं। आप सभी को धूम्रपान के हानिकारक प्रभावों से जागरूक होना चाहिये। तम्बाकू बहुत-सी स्वास्थ्य सम्बन्धी समस्याओं का कारण है, जैसे – कैंसर, श्वांस सम्बन्धी बीमारियाँ व अन्य बीमारियाँ । यह जानलेवा है। इसके अलावा यह परिवार की सीमित आय की बर्बादी है। धूम्रपान परिवार के अन्य सदस्यों के लिये भी हानिकारक है।
आपको मालूम होगा कि तम्बाकू के व सिगरेट के पैकेट पर भी वैधानिक चेतावनी स्पष्ट रूप से लिखी होती है कि धूम्रपान तथा तम्बाकू सेवन स्वास्थ्य के लिये हानिकारक है। इसलिये आप लोग मुझसे वायदा कीजिये कि आज के बाद आप धूम्रपान तथा तम्बाकू सेवन नहीं करेंगें।

Drunk driving is a serious problem that is playing with the life of thousands of people every year. A death from drunk driving does not only affect the victim but it affects everyone around him.
After drinking one loses one’s control over oneself. In such a condition he/she can put the lives of others in danger. Accidents can be fatal. One can lose one’s life or become handicapped for the rest of life or can take the life of others. Driving under the influence of alcohol one can be sent to jail and has to face many difficulties. At last, I would like to say that drunk driving must not be practised. Thanks.

Respected Principal, teachers, guardians and my dear friends! Very good morning to all of you. Today I am going to deliver a short speech on the ‘Importance of Traffic Lights’. Traffic lights are not taken seriously by some drivers. We often see people jumping the red light and thus putting their lives and the lives of others at risk. Ignoring the red light is dangerous as it may cause a fatal accident.
Here, I would like to clarify to those who do not know the meaning of traffic lights. The Red light means you have to ‘stop completely’. The Yellow light means that you should be ‘ready to stop or move’. A green light means ‘move ahead’. It is safer to move when the traffic light turns green. If we ignore the traffic signals, we can be punished. Thanks for giving me an ear.

सम्माननीय प्रधानाचार्य, मेरे प्यारे गुरुजन, अभिभावकगण तथा प्रिय मित्रो! आप सभी को सुप्रभात। आज मैं ट्रैफिक लाइट के महत्व पर भाषण देना चाहता हूँ। कुछ ड्राइवर ट्रैफिक लाइट पर ध्यान नहीं देते। हम प्रायः लोगों को लाल लाइट को पार करते देखते हैं और इस प्रकार वे अपना तथा दूसरों का जीवन खतरे में डाल देते हैं। लाल लाइट की उपेक्षा बहुत ही खतरनाक है क्योंकि इस कारण दुखद दुर्घटना हो सकती है।
मैं ट्रैफिक लाइट का अर्थ स्पष्ट करना चाहूँगा। लाल लाइट का अर्थ है ‘आपको पूर्ण रूप से रुकना है। पीली लाइट का अर्थ है ‘आपको रुक जाने या आगे बढ़ने के लिए तैयार हो जाना चाहिए।’ हरी लाइट का अर्थ है ‘आगे बढ़ो’। जब लाइट हरी हो जाये तब आगे बढ़ना अधिक सुरक्षित होता है। यदि हम ट्रैफिक लाइट की उपेक्षा करते हैं तो हम दण्डित हो सकते हैं । मुझे सुनने के लिए धन्यवाद।

It has conquered both time and distance. Man has placed his foot on the moon. We should remember that today all our activities are controlled by science.

प्रिय मित्रो, आज मैं ‘विज्ञान जो कि वरदान व अभिशाप’ दोनों है पर एक भाषण देने जा रहा हूँ। कुछ भी अच्छा या बुरा नहीं होता है, सिर्फ हमारी सोच उसे अच्छा या बुरा बनाती है। हम वैज्ञानिक युग में रह रहे हैं जिसने सिद्ध कर दिया है कि वह मानवता के लिये वरदान है। आधुनिक विज्ञान ने हमारे जीवन में क्रान्तिकारी परिवर्तन किये हैं।
इसने हमारे जीवन को आराम और खुशियों से भर दिया है। इसने समय और दूरी पर विजय पा ली है। मनुष्य अपने कदम चांद पर रख चुका है। हमें याद रखना चाहिये कि आज हमारी सभी गतिविधियाँ विज्ञान द्वारा नियंत्रित हैं।
दूसरी किसी भी चीज की तरह, विज्ञान का दूसरा पहलू भी है। यह अभिशाप भी है। हमने युद्ध हथियारों (सामग्री) का विकास कर लिया है जो कि पलक झपकते ही पूरी दुनिया को नष्ट कर सकते हैं। दूसरे शब्दों में, विज्ञान मानव जीवन के लिये चुनौती बन चुका है।

They not only give us physical fitness but also mental fitness. Games and sports also develop some virtues in us like – discipline, tolerance, leadership skills, punctuality and team spirit etc. We all should participate in games and sports. अतः हमारा लक्ष्य सिर्फ परीक्षा में अच्छे अंक लाना ही नहीं होना चाहिये। बल्कि हमें ज्ञान (knowledge) पर ज्यादा जोर देना चाहिये। अपनी पढाई समाप्त करने के बाद जब हम कॉलेज से बाहर निकलेंगे तब हमें कड़ी प्रतियोगिता का सामना करना पड़ेगा। ज्ञान व्यक्ति को बहुत ताकत देता है। यदि हमारे अन्दर ज्ञान है तो हम कभी भी पराजित नहीं होंगे।

Dear friends: Today I am going to say something on the topic ‘Importance of Hard Work’. If we are ready to do hard work, nothing is impossible. Friends, as we all know hard work can bring wonders. Only hard work can lead us to success.
It gives us mental satisfaction. We could have made such tremendous progress in the field of science and technology, in the field of education, agriculture and so on, it is all due to our hard work. प्रिय मित्रो: आज मैं कठिन परिश्रम का महत्व’ विषय पर कुछ बोलने जा रहा हूँ। हमने पर्वतों की ऊँचाई पर विजय प्राप्त कर ली, हम चन्द्रमा पर पहुँच चुके हैं, हमने नदियों के पानी पर नियंत्रण कर लिया, हमने असंभव चीजों को संभव कर दिखाया, कैसे? वास्तव में यह हमारा सिर्फ और सिर्फ कठिन परिश्रम ही है। यदि हम कठिन परिश्रम करने के लिये तैयार हैं तो कुछ भी असंभव नहीं है।
मित्रो, जैसा कि हम सभी जानते हैं कठिन परिश्रम चमत्कार कर सकता है। सिर्फ कठिन परिश्रम ही हमें सफलता दिला सकता है। यह हमें मानसिक शान्ति देता है। हम सिर्फ अपने कठिन परिश्रम के ही कारण विज्ञान व तकनीक के क्षेत्र में, शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में, कृषि के व अन्य क्षेत्रों में इतनी प्रगति कर सके हैं। हम अपने राष्ट्र का भविष्य हैं। हमें अपने राष्ट्र को आगे ले जाना है। इसलिए कल (भविष्य) के अच्छे नागरिक बनने के लिए हमें कठिन परिश्रम करना चाहिये।

The achievements, with the help of force and strength, are short-lived. By renouncing war, Ashoka, the great, succeeded in winning over the hearts of people.

प्रिय मित्रो: अच्छा शिष्टाचार और अनुशासन हमारे लिये उतना ही महत्वपूर्ण है जितना कि जीवन के लिए भोजन। एक व्यक्ति अपनी अच्छाइयों के कारण पहचाना जाता है। हम सभी में अच्छा शिष्टाचार होना चाहिये तथा हमें उचित रूप से अनुशासित रहना चाहिये। ये सभी बातें हमारे जीवन को व्यवस्थित व आसान बनाती हैं। यदि हम विनम्र हैं तो अपने दुश्मन को भी दिल जीत सकते हैं। जबरन या शक्ति से प्राप्त चीजें लघुकालीन होती हैं। सम्राट अशोक युद्ध का त्याग करके लोगों के हृदय जीतने में कामयाब हो गया।
अच्छे शिष्टाचार के अनुशासन की जरूरत प्रत्येक स्थान पर होती है-घर में, स्कूल/कालेज में, दफ्तर में यदि हम अपनी पहचान बनाना चाहते हैं और दूसरों पर अच्छा प्रभाव डालना चाहते हैं तो हमें अच्छी आदतें सीखनी चाहिये।

Respected Principal sir, all the teachers, and my dear friends, today we have gathered here to celebrate the Republic Day of India. Today is a red letter day. Our country became free on 15th August 1947, and our nation became Republic on 26 Jan 1950. On this day, our Indian Constitution came into existence. Our constitution is the largest written constitution of the world. Its great feature is that it is both flexible and rigid.
It contains the duties and fundamental rights of Indian citizens, directive principles of the state policies, responsibilities of states and the centre, languages of India, etc. To see this day, lakhs of people sacrificed their lives. Now it is our responsibility to maintain the unity, integrity and sovereignty of our nation.

आदरणीय प्रधानाचार्य जी, सभी अध्यापकगण, व मेरे गि साथियो, आज हम सभी यहाँ गणतंत्र दिवस मनाने हेतु एकत्रित हुए हैं। आज का दिन हमारे लिये खुशी का दिन है। हमारा देश 15 अगस्त सन् 1947 को आजाद हुआ और हमारा राष्ट्र 26 जनवरी 1950 को गणतंत्र बना। आज ही के दिन हमारा भारतीय संविधान अस्तित्व में आया। हमारा संविधान दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा लिखित संविधान है।
इसकी सबसे बड़ी विशेषता यह है कि यह लचीला व कठोर दोनों ही स्वरूप वाला है। इसमें भारतीय नागरिकों के कर्तव्य, मूल अधिकार, राज्य के नीति निर्देशक तत्व, केन्द्र व राज्यों के उत्तरदायित्व, भारतीय भाषाएँ आदि सभी कुछ इसमें वर्णित हैं। इस दिन को देखने के लिये लाखों लोगों ने अपने प्राणों का बलिदान दिया। अब यह हमारा उत्तरदायित्व बनता है कि हम इस एकता, अखण्डता व सम्प्रभुता को बनाए रखें।

United We Stand Divided We Fall

Dear friends: You might have definitely heard the famous proverb, ‘United We Stand, Divided We Fall’. It is very true. We should not fight with each other. We should live united. We should also learn from our history. We could get freedom from British rule because we were united. For a long time we were like slaves; why? Because at that time we were not united. Britishers took advantage of their policy of ‘divide and rule’.
Why should we waste our time and energy in fighting? Instead, we should utilize our time and energy for our betterment. If we uplift ourselves, people will follow us. A stick can be easily broken even by a child but several sticks bound together cannot be broken even by a wrestler.

प्रिय मित्रो: आपने प्रसिद्ध कहावत ‘United We Stand, divided we Fall’ तो अवश्य सुनी होगी। यह एकदम सत्य है। हमें एक-दूसरे के साथ झगड़ा नहीं करना चाहिये। हमें एकता के साथ (मिल-जुलकर) रहना चाहिये। हमें अपने इतिहास से भी सीख लेनी चाहिये। हम अंग्रेजी शासन से मुक्त हो सके क्योंकि हम एक थे। एक लम्बे समय तक हम गुलाम रहे, क्यों? क्योंकि उस समय हम एक नहीं थे।
अंग्रेजों ने अपनी ‘फूट डालो शासन करो’ की नीति का फायदा उठाया। हम अपना समय व ऊर्जा झगड़ने में क्यों बर्बाद करें। इसके बजाय हमें अपना समय व शक्ति (ऊर्जा) को अपनी बेहतरी के लिये प्रयोग करना चाहिये। यदि हम अपने आपको ऊँचा उठाते हैं तो दूसरे लोग भी हमसे सीखेंगे। एक अकेली लकड़ी या छड़ एक बच्चा भी तोड़ सकता है लेकिन जब कई सारी छड़ें एक साथ बाँध दी जाये तो एक पहलवान भी उन्हें नहीं तोड़ सकता।

During the days of our freedom struggle, two parallel powers were working against the British rule. On one side there were non-violent demonstrations under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. And Monu’s elder brother who is never willing to go to school reminds me of the complaining schoolboy of the poem. And whenever I see Jeetu’s grandfather without teeth, eyes, taste etc, lying on the bed, I feel that Shakespeare has rightly divided man’s life into seven stages.
