Meaning (अर्थ) :
समध्वनि शब्द (हॉर्मोफउन्homophones) किसी एक भाषा के वे शब्द होते हैं। जो उच्चारण में तो समान होते हैं किन्तु spelling व meaning में भिन्न होते हैं, जैसे-son व sun दोनों का उच्चारण (सन्) है किन्तु दोनों शब्दों की spelling भिन्न है व दोनों शब्दों के अर्थ (meaning) भी भिन्न हैं। ‘son’ का अर्थ है ‘बेटा’ तथा ‘sun’ का अर्थ है ‘सूर्य’।
