- Selection of necessary storage space – A place is selected to keep the entire record either in its complete or divided form. This place is as per the required space, where the security of the records is taken care of.
- Building a Maintenance Department – Record maintenance or archives department is formed in the office.
- Composition of desired activities – The desired devices are consolidated into archives for their protection, processing and management in hard or soft copy format.
