A. Question 1.
Rearrange the following sentences and put them in correct order according to the story.
निम्न वाक्यों को व्यवस्थित कीजिए तथा कहानी के अनुसार सही क्रम में रखिए।
1. One day, a lonely boy named Pankaj found the magic lamp and rubbed it.
2. It was clear that the genie’s house had not been cleaned for years.
3. Pankaj wished to enter the magic lamp as he wanted to see what the genie’s house looked like.
4. Whenever somebody rubbed the magic lamp, the genie would come out and say, “What is your wish?”
5. Together Pankaj and the genie put everything in order. Now the genie was respected.

Answer.
When someone rubs a magic lamp a genie will come out and say, “What is your wish?”
जब एक जादुई चिराग को रगड़ा जाता है, एक जिन्न बाहर निकलता है तथा कहता है, “आपकी क्या इच्छा है?”

Question 1.
Read the following sentences from the lesson
पाठ में से निम्न वाक्यों को पढ़िये
(i) Pankaj found the lamp.
(ii) He heard the sad cries of the genie.
These sentences are the examples of simple past tense. It is used to talk about an action that took place in the past. Notice that past forms of verb ‘find’ and ‘hear’ have been used in these sentences.
ये वाक्य simple past tense के उदाहरण हैं। इसकाप्रयोग भूतकाल में घटित होने वाले कार्य के बारे में बात करने के लिए किया जाता है। ध्यान दें कि इन वाक्यों में ‘find’ तथा ‘hear’ की past forms का प्रयोग किया गया है।

Question 1.
Draw a picture of genie and the magic lamp on a chart paper and write a paragraph on it describing what the genie does.
चार्ट पेपर पर जिन्न तथा जादुई चिराग का एक चित्र बनाइये तथा इसका वर्णन करते हुए कि जिन्न क्या करता है, एक गद्यांश लिखिए।
Answer.
A genie has some devine powers. It lives in a magic lamp. When the lamp is rubbed, he comes out and says, “What is your wish?” He is always ready to complete the wish. When the person asks for a gift, it is immediately granted. A genie fulfil all the wishes.

एक जिन्न के पास कुछ दैवीय शक्तियाँ होती हैं। इसके पास एक जादुई चिराग होता है। जब चिराग रगड़ा जाता है, वह (जिन्न) बाहर आता है तथा कहता है, “आपकी क्या इच्छा है?” वह इच्छा पूरी करने के लिए हमेशा तैयार रहता है। जब वह व्यक्ति कोई उपहार माँगता है तो वह तुरन्त स्वीकृत हो जाता है जिन्न सभी इच्छाओं को पूरा करता है। [नोट-चित्र स्वयं बनायें ।]

Read the following passages and answer the questions given below:
Passage : 1
One day a lonely by named Pankaj, found the lamp. He heard the sad cries of the genie. So he decided to try to become his friend. The wish he asked to be granted was to be able to enter and leave the lamp. The genie was happy to grant this wish. As soon as Pankaj entered the lamp, he could see what the genie’s problem was. It wasn’t that he was a bad genie. It was just that he was untidy.
