India is an agricultural country. Our prosperity depends upon our agricultural production. The Indian farmer’s contribution is very vital in this achievement. India, as a matter of fact, is a land of farmers. Nearly 75 per cent of our population lives in villages.
The Indian farmer grows crops not just for his own family but for all the families of our country. He works hard in the farms in all weathers. Throughout the year, the Indian farmer remains busy in tilling the fields, sowing seeds and reaping the crops. In the fields, he ploughs the land for hours together. But he sells his products in the market at a very nominal price due to lack of proper market mechanism. Indeed, his life is very busy and hard. He does not care about his health. His wealth is his crop. Thus, an Indian farmer should be respected by everyone.
Indian farmers are hardworking and resilient individuals who continue to play a crucial role in the development of our nation. However, farmers in India face a number of challenges, including lack of access to credit, modern technology, and challenges related to irrigation and water management. Climate change and increasing population and urbanisation also add to their problems. Historical Role and Limitations According to old Indian scriptures, women were considered as goddesses and believed to bring wealth and prosperity to their families. However, in reality, they were ill-treated. Their position was lower than men and they were regarded as their husband’s property with no real rights. Their role was to take care of the household and raise children. They were not allowed to work outside jobs, receive education or own property. They also withstood social evils like child marriages, sati, female infanticides, domestic abuse, etc.
Present Scenario After many struggles, women in India now enjoy many fundamental rights they didn’t before. Today, they can get an education and become financially independent. They participate in the development of the country while working in fields like education, healthcare, politics, economic growth, etc. More women hold leadership and administrator roles. However, they are still expected to fulfill their traditional roles with these new ones.
Conclusion Today, their future is bright, but there is a long way to go. Places with lower literacy rate and economic background still struggle to view men and women equally. As machines make jobs easier and efficient, people have started to use them at the smallest inconvenience. For example, people prefer driving cars instead of walking even for short distances. This has made people lazy and has affected their physical health. But the irony is that we need gym machines and equipment to fix our health.
Earlier, books were the main source of knowledge and students relied on them to complete assignments. But now, books are replaced by computers. With advanced features, computers make the task so easy that it has reduced their ability to think and create on their own.
