Phrasal verb एक से अधिक शब्दों से मिलकर बनी होती है जिसमें एक तो क्रिया होती है जो कि मुख्य शब्द होता है तथा अन्य एक Preposition या एक Adverb होता है। इनकी रचना इस प्रकार से होती है- Verb+Preposition/Adverb. Phrasal verb का अर्थ इसके मूल क्रिया शब्द से भिन्न हो सकता है। जैसे
