1. Child Labour
Right to free and compulsory education Act of 2009 says children from 6 to 14 must be in schools. We find young children involved in labour. Probably a brother and a sister are found doing labour. They may console themselves saying they supplement the family income, ut in the longer run, their capacity to negotiate better wages will be limited without education. Let us fight Child Labour. Let us persuade parents to send children to schools.
2. Tragic Death of Elephants
Elephants are the largest land mammals. As forest cover is reduced elephants don’t find water. They come into the city side looking for water and food in groups. The driver is also helpless when they sight an elephant crossing the track. They get killed on the track. Is it not our duty to protect these animals?
3. Farmers’ Plight
A country where the farmer’s plight is not appreciated is doomed to perish in famine and drought. In peninsular India, mostly the farmers look for monsoon rains to sow and cultivate their lands. Some lucky states like Karnataka and Andhra do have perennial rivers. However, they don’t share their resources with us. As a result, fanners commit suicide. Farmer’s death is simply taken as statistics in demography. Mentoring Students. This is a classroom in a private school. The students are seated in neat rows and are dressed in colourful uniforms. 5. Tiger-The National Animal.
Tiger is our national animal. It is the largest member of the cat family. It is a gentle animal often killed for sport or for the skin. Normally, a tiger does not attack a human being. The great cats of India now are in the red list because poaching is the leading threat to these endangered animals.
6. Plantcils
I love this picture which has a good collection of Plantcils. Plantcil is a blended word of plant and pencil. The reverse side of the pencil has a seed in it. When the pencil becomes very small to hold and write you can sow the reverse side of the pencil which will bring for the new sapling for you to grow. This is a good example of recycling material. Let us advocate ‘Reduce ‘ Reuse and Recycle’ and also promote it as return gifts for birthday parties.
